MK TUNING SLIDES & LEADPIPES

For many years players have been trying to improve their instruments by changing bells, leadpipes, heavy valve caps, mouthpiece boosters, mouthpieces etc. However, one of the easiest and cheapest ways to enhance your trumpet is to use a custom tuning slide.

The MK slides are designed to replace the standard main tuning slide of your Bach or Yamaha Bb or C trumpet. They are available in the standard New York or a fully round style and in braced or non-braced designs. These slides can dramatically enhance your trumpet’s tonal properties.
The braced version is designed to make the trumpet more free blowing, enhance projection and improve slotting. The brace-less version is also free blowing but with more edge, making it feel comfortable in the commercial music environment. One eminent player recently tried the braced version and observed, “This slide takes the woof out of the Bach.”

MK have recently included a few more exotic slides in their range including a slide with a fully-round profile, making it even more free blowing. The MK slides are available in raw brass, gold, silver and lacquer finishes with either Amado (standard) original Bach or Saturn water keys. An extra £10 will be added for Bach & Saturn options.

MK LEADPIPES

MK have recently introduced an exciting range of leadpipes of which the Nos 5 and 7 are the first two to be available in UK. The MK No 5 was designed to replace the standard Bach 25 leadpipe but with a more consistent profile, individually set venturi and correct gap. The Mt Vernon No 7 was taken from the original drawings by Vincent Bach and is available as a vintage Bb pipe for Mt Vernon Bachs or as a C trumpet reverse leadpipe version.
Both these leadpipes are available in Red or Yellow brass and offer increased efficiency, more even tone and better tuning. Three recent customers have included principle players of major European orchestras who now use their "MK'd" C trumpets as their main work-horses.

*Due to the unreliable tolerances in some Bach instruments, it is recommended that you try the slide out before deciding on a finish. Money will not be refunded if you have specified a water key and finish only to find that the slide does not fit your particular instrument. A free fitting service is available on request.
