LOCATION Spencer trumpets is located in Elstead, between Godalming and Farnham. The workshop backs on to Thursely Common Nature Reserve, and is surrounded by spectacular countryside.
The first known reference to Elstead was in 1128 and there are several sites of historical interest nearby, including Waverley Abbey. Further information can be found at the following site http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elstead. There are three good pubs in the village, offering excellent beers and food, with the Golden Fleece specializing in Thai cuisine.
PLANNING A VISIT Customers must call before visiting the workshop and major jobs must be pre-booked in the workshop calendar. Most operations, including complete reconfigurations, are usually carried out during a single visit, and customers are welcome to wait. Tea and coffee can be provided, and customers’ jokes and stories are always welcome! Customers from abroad may need to make arrangements for travel and accommodation and this can be organized. The most efficient way is to be picked up from the airport, and taken directly to the workshop. A customer can either stay the night at our home (with my wife and two lively little boys), or book into a local bed and breakfast/Hotel. DIRECTIONS Spencer trumpets is based in the village of Elstead, SURREY, about 20 miles southwest of London, and between Heathrow and Gatwick airports. By Car From the A3, take the Milford/Elstead exit, and follow the B3001 (past the folly on the right, where much of Robin Hood was filmed) into Elstead.
Just after the Woolpack pub on your left, turn left towards Thursely and follow the road past the church on your right and the school on your left.
Turn left just after the school into Red House Lane, and then sharp right at the end. This is Beacon View Road, and Little Tree (Spencer trumpets) is half way down on the left, just before the cricket green.
By Train From Central London, a train from Waterloo will take around and hour to Godalming, Farncombe or Milford. A ten-minute taxi ride will take you from Godalming or Farncombe, but customers can be picked up if necessary. By Air For a more constructive and relaxed trip, you can be picked up by car from either Heathrow or Gatwick airports. During the drive to the workshop, your needs can be discussed.
HOWEVER: From Gatwick: There is a train service to Guildford. From here you can change, and take a train to Farncombe where you can take a taxi, or arrange collection. From Heathrow: There is a train to Central London, where you will then have to travel to Waterloo station. From here, take a train to Farncombe. |
